Alori vs ServiceTitan: When Enterprise Software Is Overkill

Alori vs ServiceTitan compared: enterprise field service software versus the all-in-one app for service businesses, and when each one wins.

7 min read
A three-person HVAC crew plans the morning in a garage with service vans outside.

ServiceTitan is enterprise field service software for home service companies that run dispatch, a call center, a pricebook, and a large technician team. You do not pick it off a public price card. You book a demo and get a quote. Alori is the all-in-one app for service businesses, starting with HVAC. You describe the business in a sentence and get an app for customers, quotes, scheduling, jobs and invoices. For a small shop, ServiceTitan is often more product than the work requires. For a large operation built around that suite, Alori is not a replacement.

The same tradeoff, without naming one vendor, is in field service software vs building your own. Smaller-product comparisons: Alori vs Jobber and Alori vs Housecall Pro.

The short version

  • Pick ServiceTitan if you are a larger residential service company and you need dispatch, call booking, a pricebook, and marketing attribution in one vendor's suite.
  • Pick Alori if you are a smaller shop, or an agency building for one, and you want customers, quotes, scheduling, jobs and invoices without a sales cycle.

Different starting points

ServiceTitan is sold as a platform you implement. As of October 2026, its pricing page does not list a dollar price. It describes per-technician pricing "at any size" and sends you to a demo. The page highlights dispatching, scheduling, call booking, invoicing, and a pricebook, and the feature blocks around it cover a dispatch board, call recording, marketing statistics tied to revenue, checklists, reporting, instant estimates, mobile service reminders, and GPS for technicians on the way.

That is a real suite for a company with CSRs, a board, and many trucks. It is also a heavy way to send quotes if you are three people and a van.

Alori assumes the second case. You describe the shop, answer a couple of questions, and get modules for the daily records. You change them in chat. There is no demo call required to see the first version.

What ServiceTitan is for

Use ServiceTitan when the business already depends on pieces like these:

  • A dispatch board and technician tracking for a crew booked from the office.
  • Call booking and call recording, so the office can review how jobs are booked.
  • A pricebook and instant estimates in the field.
  • Marketing tied to which campaigns become revenue.
  • Reporting on closing rates, booked jobs, and the other metrics that page describes.

Ask on the demo about anything that page does not list. Memberships, commissions, and payroll are common questions. They were not on the public pricing page we read in October 2026.

Alori does not ship that suite. There is no dispatch board, no pricebook, no marketing attribution, and no GPS tracking for technicians on the way. Alori records the calls you place from a customer record, but it is not a call-booking suite. Card payments, online booking, and a client portal are not default modules either. If those are the reason you are buying software, ServiceTitan (or a lighter product such as Jobber or Housecall Pro) is the honest choice.

What you can do with Alori

For a shop that lives in customers, quotes, the schedule, jobs and invoices, the path is short:

  1. Describe the business, or paste the website.
  2. Answer the multiple-choice questions Alori asks when a description is ambiguous.
  3. Use the app at the office and on a phone.
  4. Change a field or a stage by asking. The change is tried on a copy first.

You can email a quote or an invoice from the app (mail4.alori.dev, 0.01 credits per recipient, replies to your account email). You can text customers from a local number, sync Gmail both ways, and call from the customer record, with recordings, transcripts and summaries. You can ask questions in chat over the records you built, such as which quotes from last month are still unsigned, when the fields exist to support that question.

Apps go live at name.alori.dev, or on your own domain (a custom domain is listed on Solo). Hosting, database, sign-in and SSL are handled. The app is available in English and French. See how Alori builds your app.

What it costs

ServiceTitan does not publish a monthly price on servicetitan.com/pricing as of October 2026. The page says pricing is per technician and asks you to request a quote. Any dollar figure on a review site is not the vendor's price. Get the quote, and ask what implementation and contract length come with it, before you compare.

Alori publishes its prices. It is free to start, with 10 credits and no card. Every plan includes unlimited users. On the pricing page, Solo starts at $99 a month for 375 credits and Business starts at $249 a month for 1,000 credits. A typical change costs about one credit. That is a different budget from a per-technician enterprise contract, and it buys a different product.

When ServiceTitan is the better pick

  • You run dispatch all day for many technicians, with CSRs booking calls.
  • You need the suite on their pricing page: a pricebook, call booking, marketing attribution, and reporting on closing rates.
  • You already trained the company on ServiceTitan, and the cost of leaving is the retraining, not the subscription line.
  • You want a vendor that implements the product with you, on a quote, rather than a trial you run yourself.
  • A missing enterprise feature would stop the business. If Alori does not have it, do not switch.

When Alori is the better pick

  • You are a small or mid-size shop and the daily work is customers, quotes, jobs and invoices.
  • A demo and a per-technician contract is the wrong shape of purchase.
  • You want to try a working app before you talk to anyone. Describe the business and look at it.
  • You want English or French, and your own stage names.
  • You are an agency building a separate app per client, each with its own team. See how to sell custom software to local businesses.

Frequently asked questions

Is Alori a ServiceTitan alternative?

Only for a narrow case. If you need ServiceTitan's dispatch, call center, pricebook, and reporting suite, Alori is not an alternative. If you need an app for customers, quotes, scheduling, jobs and invoices, and you do not want an enterprise rollout, Alori is the closer fit.

How much does ServiceTitan cost?

ServiceTitan does not publish a dollar price. As of October 2026, the pricing page says pricing is per technician and routes you to a demo. Ask for the per-technician rate, the minimum, the contract, and what implementation costs. Compare that quote with what you actually use.

Is ServiceTitan only for large companies?

The pricing page says per-technician pricing is meant to fit "at any size." In practice the product is heavy: dispatch, call booking, marketing attribution, and a sales-led quote. A three-person shop can ask for a demo. Many of them will find Jobber, Housecall Pro, or an app they shape themselves to be enough.

What does Alori leave out on purpose?

Card payments, online booking, a client portal, a dispatch board, GPS tracking, and a pricebook. Email for quotes and invoices is included when those modules are on. If you need the missing pieces on day one, pick a product that already has them.
