Compliance management software for small cybersecurity consultants

Short answer: Compliance management software keeps every audit, control and deadline in order. Alori is the all-in-one app for service businesses, and small cybersecurity consultants use it to run their client work: a project per audit with its tasks, compliance reminders that repeat on their own, recorded meetings, quotes and invoices. Alori is not a full GRC platform, and it does not scan systems or store evidence for auditors.

A day for a small cybersecurity consultant

A one to ten person security firm works across many clients at once. A kickoff call for a SOC 2 readiness project. A policy review for a clinic. A quarterly access review that is due Friday for a retail client. A penetration test to quote. And a client who forgot what was agreed in last month's meeting.

The tools: a GRC or compliance tool for some clients, spreadsheets of controls for others, a project tool, Zoom with notes in a document, a scheduling link, an invoicing tool and QuickBooks. Deadlines live in someone's calendar. If that person is sick, the deadline slips.

What Alori gives a cybersecurity consultant

  • A project per audit. In Tasks, start a project for the client, name it ("SOC 2 readiness, Q1"), keep the tasks Alori suggests, and add a task for each control or step. Set a lead and a target date, and the project shows how many tasks are done. Link the quote and invoices to the project.
  • Your control lists, imported. Already track controls in a spreadsheet? Import it as tasks from Excel or CSV. Alori finds the titles, dates, people and statuses on its own.
  • Compliance reminders that repeat. Make a task repeat every week, every month or every year, like "quarterly access review" or "annual policy sign-off". When you mark it done, the next one is created. See compliance management.
  • Tasks the team owns. Assign each task to a teammate. They accept it, or click Can't do it to send it back with a reason. See all tasks as a board, one column per status. See tasks.
  • Meetings with a record. Run kickoffs and reviews as video meetings in the browser, recorded, with a transcript and a summary emailed to whoever made the meeting. Turn each next step into a task, and ask questions about a past meeting. See meetings.
  • Quotes and invoices. Quotes from your price list, signed and accepted online, with an automatic follow-up. Invoices with a pay by card link, automatic reminders when they are late, and QuickBooks Online sync. See quotes.
  • Clients and their people. One company record with its contacts, notes, emails and calls, in a shared inbox the team sees.

  • Document requests: ask a client for a policy, a screenshot or a report, and track what came back. Today, documents arrive by email in the client's thread.

FAQ

Is Alori a GRC platform? No. Alori does not map controls to frameworks, collect evidence automatically or scan your clients' systems. It runs your firm's client work: projects per audit, repeating compliance tasks, meetings, quotes and invoices. Keep a GRC tool where a client needs one.

Can Alori remind me of yearly and quarterly deadlines? Yes. Make a task repeat every month or every year, and the next one is created when you mark it done. Your bot can also text you a summary of what is due, if you ask it to set up that automation.

Can I keep notes from client meetings? Yes. Record the meeting in Alori to get the transcript and summary, or import a recording or a transcript from another meeting app.

Can I see one client's work on its own? Yes. Open the client's project to see its tasks, progress and linked quotes and invoices. In the full task list, the Project filter shows one project's tasks.
