Electrical contractor software for small shops
Short answer: Alori is the all-in-one app for electrical contractors who want calls, quotes, the schedule, jobs and invoices in one place. As electrical contractor software, it gives you a business phone with a menu and voicemail transcripts, a website chat bot, quotes customers sign online, a schedule by electrician, jobs with photos and checklists, and invoices customers pay by card, synced with QuickBooks Online. You describe your shop, then change the app by asking in plain words.
A day in a small electrical shop
The office opens at 7. Two voicemails from last night: a panel upgrade request and a breaker that keeps tripping. The owner is on a site, so the office manager calls back, writes the address on a sticky note and adds the visit to a shared calendar. The quote for the panel upgrade gets written that evening in a spreadsheet. The electrician takes photos of the work on his own phone. At month end, invoices get typed again into QuickBooks.
The usual stack:
- A cell phone and a voicemail box
- A calendar app or a whiteboard for the schedule
- A spreadsheet or a template for quotes
- Personal phone photos as proof of work
- QuickBooks, with invoices typed in by hand
What Alori gives an electrician
A business phone that sorts calls. Get a business number, or bring the one you have. Add a phone menu ("press 1 for service, press 2 for new installs"), business hours, and a closed message. Calls ring the team you pick, and nobody misses a voicemail: each one is written out on the customer's record, with a summary. Turn on call recording if you want it. See Calls.
A website chat bot. Your app comes with a website. Turn on the chat and your bot answers visitors from your services, prices and hours, then passes the chat to you when it needs a person or a visitor wants a quote.
Quotes signed online. Build quotes from your price list, like "200 A panel upgrade" or "EV charger install". The customer signs on their phone and the quote turns Accepted. Quote follow-up sends one reminder when a quote sits unanswered.
Schedule and dispatch. Turn an accepted quote into a job and schedule it. Pick who goes: each electrician shows Free, Already booked or On leave. In Day view, each person has a column, and you drag a visit to another electrician.
Jobs with photos and checklists. Each job has a To do checklist and a Photos box. Electricians tick steps on site and add before and after photos from their phone. Their phone shows their day: stops in order, directions, the gate code, and one button for On the way, Start and Finish.
Crew hours from the job. Put your crew on a job. When it starts, their clocks start; when it is finished, they stop. The owner sees the labour cost and the margin on the job, and you export the week's hours for payroll. See employees.
Invoices and card payments. Finish the job and invoice it. The emailed invoice has a pay by card link and turns Paid by itself. Unpaid invoice reminders go out by email or text.
QuickBooks Online sync. Customers, companies and invoices stay the same in Alori and QuickBooks. No more typing invoices twice.
Unlimited users. Every electrician gets a login at no extra cost per person. See pricing.
How to start
- Describe your business. For example: "electrical contractor, 5 electricians, residential service and panel upgrades, some commercial work".
- Import your customers. Paste a customer list into Ask Alori. Connect QuickBooks Online and the sync brings customers over both ways. Moving from HubSpot or Aircall? There are imports for both.
- Invite your team. Each electrician gets an invitation email and their own login. Set their role to see only their own jobs and hide prices if you want.

FAQ

Can I keep my current business number? Yes. You can bring your current number to Alori, and the app shows where the move stands.
Can customers pay by card? Yes. Each emailed invoice has a pay by card link through Stripe. Card payments are in Canadian dollars for now.
