Everything above, in detail: how it works, what it replaces and what it does not.

A CRM for financial advisors who run their own practice

Short answer: Alori is the all-in-one app for independent financial advisors and small practices. It works as a CRM for financial advisors on the relationship side: each household is one client file, review meetings are booked online and recorded with notes, annual reviews come back as repeating tasks, and your client newsletter goes out as an email campaign. It is not a portfolio, trading or compliance archiving tool, so you keep those where they are today.

A year in a small advisory practice

You have 150 households. Each one should get a review every year, some twice. A couple calls after a job change. Another client emails a question about their RRSP or 401(k) contribution, and the answer sits in your personal inbox. You meant to send a note to every client before tax season, but the list is in a spreadsheet that has not been updated since spring.

Most independent advisors and practices of 2 to 15 people juggle the same stack:

  • A spreadsheet or an old contact manager for households
  • A booking link from one tool, video calls from another
  • Meeting notes in a notebook or a Word file
  • Calendar reminders for annual reviews, set by hand
  • A newsletter tool with its own copy of your client list
  • Your custodian, planning and portfolio tools, which stay

The cost is the retyping between them, and the review that slips a year because nobody set the reminder.

What Alori gives a financial advisor

Households as client files. Add each household as a customer and add both spouses as contacts on its People tab, with their phone, email and role. Tags like "Retired" or "Review in spring" let you find a group fast. Emails, texts and calls with the household land in one thread in the shared inbox, and team notes stay on the file. See customers.

Review meetings booked online. Share a booking link for a one hour annual review or a 20 minute check-in. The client picks an open time, both sides get an email, and reminders go out before the meeting. Connect your Google or Outlook calendar so you are never double booked. See online booking.

Meetings recorded, with notes. Hold a video meeting in Alori and keep Record on, or record an in person meeting on your phone. When it ends, Alori writes the transcript and a short summary with next steps, and you can ask questions about what was said. Meetings are private to you until you share them. See meetings.

Annual reviews as repeating tasks. Add a review task for each household and set it to repeat every year. When you mark it done, the next one appears a year later with the same client and owner. The task board shows which reviews are late.

Document follow up as tasks. After a meeting, click a next step to make it a task, like "get the updated beneficiary form". Give it a due date and an owner, and it stays on the list until it is done.

Email campaigns to your clients. Send a tax season note or a market update to everyone, to a list built from your tags, or to people you pick. You see who opened and clicked. Every campaign has an unsubscribe link, and people who unsubscribe are left out after that. See email campaigns.

Unlimited users. Your assistant and associate advisors get their own login at no extra cost. See pricing.

What Alori is not

Alori runs the relationship side of your practice. Be clear about what it does not do:

  • Not a portfolio management or trading tool. It does not hold accounts, positions or performance, and it does not place trades.
  • Not a compliance archive. Alori does not claim to meet SEC, FINRA or other regulators' record keeping rules. Keep your required archiving with the tool your firm or broker dealer approves.
  • No custodian or planning software links. Your custodian and planning tools stay as they are.
  • No client portal yet. Clients get emails and booking links, not a login of their own.

You stay responsible for your own record keeping and compliance rules, including what you record, how you send marketing emails and where you keep client information.

How to start

  1. Describe your practice. Type a few words, like "independent financial advisor, 150 households, annual reviews and retirement planning". Alori builds your app with the tools that fit.
  2. Import your households. Paste a client list from a spreadsheet into Ask Alori and it adds them. Tasks come in from an Excel or CSV file. If you use HubSpot, you can move your records over.
  3. Invite your team. Each person gets an invitation email and their own login.
