Bring Jira over with the same numbers.
Connect Jira, pick who's who, and click Import everything. Projects become teams with the same keys, and every issue keeps its number, comments and history.
- Epics become projects, sprints become cycles.
- Import again brings only what changed.
- Nobody is emailed by the import.
Teams, cycles and response times, in plain words.
Each team gets its prefix, its steps, cycles of 1 to 4 weeks and response times per priority. Unfinished work moves to the next cycle on its own.
- A customer's ticket past its time turns red.
- Pull requests that name DEV-7 show on the ticket.
- Ask Alori "give SUP-45 to Luis".
Change it by asking.
Your app isn’t frozen on day one. Write what you need, the way you’d text it. Alori makes the change and shows you before anything goes live.

Jira alternatives for service businesses: tickets that know the customer
Short answer: Jira is a deep work tracker, built for software teams and, with Jira Service Management, for IT and support desks. If you are comparing Jira alternatives because your tickets are mostly customer requests, follow-ups on jobs and the team's shared work, Alori Tickets tracks them in the same all-in-one app as your customers, conversations, jobs and invoices, and the Jira import brings your projects over with the same numbers.
Who Jira fits well
Jira is a strong fit when:
- Software teams plan sprints, epics and releases across many projects.
- You need custom fields, custom workflows with transition rules, and JQL searches.
- Dashboards, reports and worklogs drive how you manage the work.
- You rely on Confluence and the Atlassian Marketplace around it.
For large engineering and IT organizations, Jira is built for the job.
Why service owners look for alternatives
In a service business, most tickets start with a customer: a furnace still noisy after a repair, a warranty question, a change to a maintenance contract. When tickets live in Jira:
- The customer is somewhere else. The ticket says "noise after repair", but the job, the calls and the emails are in other tools.
- Answering the customer is a second step. Someone copies the update from Jira into an email or a text.
- It takes an admin. Schemes, screens and workflows need someone who knows Jira to keep them working.
- Per-user pricing keeps technicians and part-time staff out, so updates come back by text.

What Alori replaces, and what it does not
For a service business, Alori replaces the ticket tracker and the copy-paste around it:
- Tickets by team. Each team has a prefix like SUP or DEV, its own steps, cycles of 1 to 4 weeks where unfinished work moves on, and optional sizes 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8.
- Triage for customer requests. File a ticket from a customer's page or their conversation: it lands in Triage until someone takes it.
- The customer kept in the loop. When a ticket moves to in progress, done or closed, Alori emails the customer in their conversation. A comment can go to the customer too, and their replies come back to that conversation.
- Tickets on the job. Pick the job a ticket is about, and it shows on that job's page.
- Response times per priority, set per team. A customer's ticket past its time turns red and counts on the menu.
- GitHub pull requests. A pull request that names DEV-7 shows on the ticket, moves it to in progress when opened and to done when merged.
- Automations in plain words when a ticket is filed or changes status, and Ask Alori to file, assign or comment for you.
What it does not replace: Jira's custom fields, workflow transition rules, JQL, dashboards and reports beyond a cycle's progress, worklogs, a customer portal, and the Atlassian Marketplace. Jira Data Center (Jira on your own servers) can't be imported yet. If you run a large software or IT organization, Jira stays the better fit. Coming from Linear instead? See the Linear alternative.
How to switch
- Describe your business. Alori builds the app, and you add Tickets to it.
- Connect Jira. In Import data, click Import on Jira, then Connect Jira, pick your site and click Accept. Connect with someone who can open every project you want to bring.
- Pick who's who and import. Next to each Jira person, pick the Alori teammate who takes over. Click Import everything: projects become ticket teams with the same keys, issues keep their numbers, comments, files and history, epics become projects and sprints become cycles. Nobody is emailed.
- Keep Jira until you switch. Import again brings only what changed, and Undo import takes out what the import brought. Plans are on pricing, with a free plan and no card needed.
Questions
Another question? Ask it when you start.
For a service business whose tickets are about customers, jobs and the team's shared work, yes: tickets sit next to the customer and the conversation, and everyone gets a login. For large software or IT teams that rely on custom workflows, JQL and dashboards, Jira stays the better fit.
Yes, from Jira Cloud. Issues keep their keys and numbers, with comments, pictures, history, sub-tasks and links. Worklogs, watchers, SLAs, automations, filters, dashboards and custom fields stay in Jira.
Not through a portal yet. Customers write by email, text or website chat, and the team files the ticket from that conversation in one click. The customer then gets an email as it moves.
Tasks are each person's own small to-dos. Tickets are the work the team tracks together, with a number, a team and a history.
Service businesses such as plumbing, HVAC and cleaning companies.
