- "My hours so far are already billed" keeps old hours from being billed twice.
- Importing the same file again skips what's already here.
- Undo takes the import back.

Clockify alternative: track the time, then bill it in one click
Short answer: Clockify is a popular time tracker and timesheet app: timers, timesheets, projects, clients and reports, with billable rates, approvals, invoicing and more on paid plans. If you are looking at Clockify alternatives because your hours get typed again on an invoice in another tool, Alori is the all-in-one app for service businesses. Track time on a project, set your rates, then click Bill hours to make the client's invoice, in the same app as your customers, quotes and inbox.
Who Clockify fits well
Clockify is a strong fit when:
- You only need to track hours, and you are happy with the tools you use for clients and invoices.
- Your team tracks time from inside other apps, with Clockify's browser extensions and its many integrations.
- You want desktop and mobile apps, an auto tracker, idle detection, or a kiosk where staff clock in on a shared tablet.
- You run schedules, time off and timesheet approvals from your time tracker.
For time tracking on its own, Clockify is built for the job.
Why service owners look for alternatives
A service business tracks time to bill it, and the billing happens somewhere else:
- The hours get typed again. The time is in Clockify, the client and the invoice are in other tools, and someone copies the hours over at month end.
- The client's story is split. When a client asks about a bill, the hours are in one app and the emails, quote and calls in others.
- A price per user. Paid plans are priced per seat, so each new teammate or freelancer adds to the bill.
- One more subscription. Time tracking, tasks, the CRM, invoices and the inbox each cost their own monthly fee.

What Alori replaces, and what it does not
For a team that tracks time to bill it, Alori replaces the time tracker and the copying into the invoice:
- A timer that follows you. Start it in Tasks › Time, on a project or on one of its tasks. It stays at the top of every page until you stop it. Or type 1:30, 1.5 or 90m and click Add.
- Your week and a Report. My week shows your time day by day. The Report adds up any period up to a year, grouped by project, person, client or task, and the owner sees everyone's time.
- Projects with a team, estimates and rates. Put people on a project, and give the project, its tasks and each person an estimate in hours and a rate. The most specific rate wins, like in Clockify.
- Bill hours. One click makes one invoice for the project's client, one line per task and person, and marks those hours billed. Emailed, it has a Pay by card link.
- Meetings to log. Your past calendar meetings wait with their project picked when Alori can tell. Click Log, or Not billable.
- Ask Alori to do it: "start a timer on the Vallée Dental website" or "how many hours did we track this month, by client?".
- The work around it: customers, quotes, tasks and the inbox, in the same app.
What it does not replace: Clockify's desktop and mobile apps, browser extensions, auto tracker, idle detection, kiosk and GPS. Alori runs in the browser, on a computer or phone. It has no cost rates, no budgets in dollars and no scheduling against team capacity. Bill hours does not bill expenses, and project time has no approval step. If your team clocks in on a shared tablet or tracks time from inside Jira with Clockify, keep Clockify. Invoicing in FreshBooks too? See the FreshBooks alternative.
How to switch
- Describe your business and invite your team. Alori builds the app with tasks, projects and invoices. Import once your team has joined: hours are matched to people by email or name.
- Export from Clockify. Open Reports › Detailed, pick dates that cover all your time, then Export › Save as CSV.
- Import the file. In Import data, click Import on Clockify, or open Tasks › Time › Import from Clockify, and drop the file. Leave "My hours so far are already billed" on if your old hours are billed.
- Check, or undo. Importing the same file again skips what's already here, and Undo takes the import back. Plans are on pricing, with a free plan and no card needed.
Questions
Another question? Ask it when you start.
Yes for service businesses that track time to bill it and want the hours, the client and the invoice in one app. If you only need a time tracker, or want a kiosk, GPS or a desktop app, Clockify fits better.
Yes. Export Reports › Detailed as CSV and drop it on Tasks › Time › Import from Clockify. Projects, clients, entries, rates and teams come over, and your old hours can stay marked as billed so Bill hours never bills them twice.
Yes, apart from project time. In Employees, people clock in from My space, or their clock starts when their job does. You approve each week under Timesheets and export a pay summary for your payroll provider. Alori does not run payroll.
Service businesses that bill their time, such as marketing agencies, consulting firms and IT consultants, and trades such as HVAC.
